Effect of lensing non-Gaussianity on the CMB power spectra

چکیده
Observed CMB anisotropies are lensed, and the lensed power spectra can be calculated accurately assuming the lensing deflections are Gaussian. However, the lensing deflections are actually slightly non-Gaussian due to both non-linear large-scale structure growth and post-Born corrections. We calculate the leading correction to the lensed CMB power spectra from the non-Gaussianity, which is determined by the lensing bispectrum. Assuming no primordial non-Gaussianity, the lowest-order result gives ∼ 0.3% corrections to the BB and EE polarization spectra on small-scales. However we show that the effect on EE is reduced by about a factor of two by higher-order Gaussian lensing smoothing, rendering the total effect safely negligible for the foreseeable future. We give a simple analytic model for the signal expected from skewness of the large-scale lensing field; the effect is similar to a net demagnification and hence a small change in acoustic scale (and therefore out of phase with the dominant lensing smoothing that predominantly affects the peaks and troughs of the power spectrum).

Galaxy-CMB and Galaxy-Galaxy Lensing on Large Scales: Sensitivity to Primordial Non-Gaussianity
A convincing detection of primordial non-Gaussianity in the local form of the bispectrum, whose amplitude is given by the ƒNL parameter, offers a powerful test of inflation. In this paper, we calculate the modification of two-point cross-correlation statistics of weak lensing—galaxy-galaxy lensing and galaxycosmic microwave background (CMB) crosscorrelation—due to ƒNL. We derive and calculate t...
متن کاملNon-Gaussian structure of the lensed CMB power spectra covariance matrix
Gravitational lensing of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) encodes cosmological information in the observed anisotropies of temperature and polarization. Accurate extraction of this additional information requires precise modeling of the covariance matrix of the power spectra of observed CMB fields. We introduce a new analytical model to describe the non-Gaussian structure of this covarianc...
متن کاملLensed CMB power spectra from all-sky correlation functions
Weak lensing of the CMB changes the unlensed temperature anisotropy and polarization power spectra. Accounting for the lensing effect will be crucial to obtain accurate parameter constraints from sensitive CMB observations. Methods for computing the lensed power spectra using a loworder perturbative expansion are not good enough for percent-level accuracy. Non-perturbative flat-sky methods are ...
متن کاملSecondary non-Gaussianity and Cross-Correlation Analysis
We develop optimised estimators of two sorts of power spectra for fields defined on the sky, in the presence of partial sky coverage. The first is the cross-power spectrum of two fields on the sky; the second is the skew spectrum of three fields. The cross-power spectrum of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) sky with tracers of large-scale-structure is useful as it provides valuable informat...
متن کاملFull-sky maps for gravitational lensing of the CMB
We use the large cosmological Millennium Simulation (MS) to construct the first allsky maps of the lensing potential and the deflection angle, aiming at gravitational lensing of the CMB, with the goal of properly including small-scale non-linearities and non-Gaussianity. Exploiting the Born approximation, we implement a map-making procedure based on direct ray-tracing through the gravitational ...
